Final Project

In my IMD 115 class (which is intro to computer graphic design), we were given a project. The instructions were to design an 8"x8" tile which can be placed next to itself or on any other side of itself and still match up. If you do not understand what im saying, you will catch on when you see my pictures. I made my tile geometric. Nothing was free handed but that was the look i was going for. After we (the class) had settled on a design we were to put color in it. I chose a mainly cool color scheme with some warmer accents. i could explain it all day but ill just post my pics as i worked on the project.

Typical Easter

Growing up, our typical Easter weekend consisted of a Saturday night full of egg decorating and restless sleep, waiting for the Easter bunny. On Sunday morning, we would wake up and see our beautiful Easter baskets. Then, without much delay, we had to get dressed in our new Easter clothes and head out to church, as a family. Of course there was the typical arguements on the way to church. My mother nagging my father to go slower and quit tailgating and my sister and I fighting over who can put their arm on the backseat armrest. After Sunday School and CHurch, we head to Grandmommy's house, where my aunt's uncle's and cousins would soon be as well. Soon we would all sit down to a feast of city and country ham, green beans, mashed potatos, corn bread, creamed corn, and several other dishes. After everyone ate, the adults would sneakily disappear and hide the prepared eggs outside. Then the most exciting part, all the kids were released to hunt for candy filled and hard-boiled eggs all over the yard. This was a very important part of my childhood and others like me.
This year was a little different. Easter of 2011, and we are 20 something years past the above described easter experience. This year, on saturday afternoon my ,mother, my son and I drove to lexington to pick up the son of my brother, who happens to be in jail. We brought him home with us for Easter weekend. That night, my father, mother, son, nephew, and myself gathered at my mothers house to decorate a couple dozen hard-boiled eggs. We were missing my two brothers (one in jail, the other kind of anti social) and my sister, also in jail. also we were missing two of my other nephews and my sisters daughter. That sunday night i returned to my home with my son. The next morning, he found his easter basket when he awoke, he wasn't overly excited but he is just a year and a half old. In trying to keep with tradition, we got dressed for church and loaded the car up. My son and I met my father and my nephew at church (where my mother was in the choir). After the church service, we all seperatly returned to richmond, but more specifically at Ryan's to have our other than traditional Easter dinner. My other brother and my other nephews did make it to our Easter dinner. Afterwards, due to the awful pattern of weather, we were unable to have an easter egg hunt too. Instead, my mother and i packed up all the kids, my son, nephew kaleb, and other nephews KJ and Kegan, to go visit my brother who was in jail in lexington. When we got to lexington we were shot down yet again, his cell's visits were already accounted for!
We did not have a very traditional or memorable easter, oh how the times have changed!!

FAMILY

I would love to brag a little bit on my nephews.  KJ and Kegan Kavanaugh and Anthony Martin.  Here in the little city of Richmond, KY, live three brothers who are making a name for themselves in the sport of boxing.  All three are outstanding in the ring, winning bout after bout, title after title.  The boys travel near and far to fight others their age in the sport; places such as Memphis,TN and Evansville, IN.  KJ and Kegan are exactly one year apart, both born on January first, 2000 and 2001.  They could very easily be mistaken for twins.  KJ (Glen Kirby Kavanaugh Jr.) is also an outstanding student as well.  Participating in the Governors Scholar Program, and his schools academic team.  The boxing coach also happens to be their uncle and long time boxing instructor Emmitt Igo of Richmond Golden Gloves.  Their older cousin, Carlos Igo, was a Junior Olymian in the 80's and won several medals, titles, and awards as well.  The boys have the resources and the opportunity to succeed in the sport if that is their choice and a great support ringside as well.  Im so porud of my nephews and wish them the best in  their future...KNOCK IT OUT BOYS!!!

Just My Opinion on a Few Things!

Almost every person in our country knows a in child support man, in their family or a close friend, who is, at this very moment being royaly screwed by our child support system.  For every legit child support situation i know of, i know of at least three or four more who undeservingly recieve compensation.

Just an example, if a mother and father both lose custody of a child, it only seems fair that both incapable parents should be required to pay child support.  Well, in this situation, it doesn't happen that way.  The mother of the child is incapable of providing anything for the child and has lost custody to her mother, as the father has done as well.  Funny thing is, the father is in jail for unrelated charges and is still being charged 300+ dollars in child support a month, and the mother is living with the child and her mother, with no job, no assets whatsoever, and is living rent free and pays NO CHILD SUPPORT!  Why is this?

Another example, a mother has custody of two children.  She can not keep a job longer than 3 months, very often she has no home for her or her children.  She has serious, clinically proven, mental problems that go as far as self mutilation, and on several occasions has been arrested for drunken assaults on police officers as well as her babys father.  She has been caught having sex with more than one person at a time, in front of her children.  She has differnt men sleeping in her bed every week.  She drags the kids from friends house to step parents house to grandpas house, or whoever will let her live with them, because she has been evicted so many times no one will rent to her.  Her previous choice of employment is a strip club!  The oldest child (4) even says she gets to babysit her sister (2 yrs) while mommy goes to the store.  She quit school, gets in fights at jobs and gets fired or mouths off at managers and gets fired.  She refuses to grow up so that she can provide for her children.  The only father in the picture can not see his daughter unless he does so under her conditions.  He buys her anything she needs, has a good home for her with his family (fiance and son) and has the means to care for her.  He forks over whatever the child needs whenever he can.  But, somehow, she can file for child support and  get it.  The system never takes into consideration that if custody was awarded to the father, he would need no child support to raise the child.  Instead, they let this obviously unfit mother raise 2 kids in these awful conditions.  He has to pay child support and the money goes for the mothers cell phone and stripper heels and cigarettes because the kids are dressed awful, often they are dirty, shoes too small, clothes too big or too small.

It is ridiculous!!!

The child support system needs a good going over and alot of thing need to change.  There needs to be a assesment done, and confer with the people in the system on how it could be made better. Right now the government is awarding promescuity and laziness among these young girls.  It is not cool to have all these kids you cannot afford and then throw young men in jail cause they cant pay 500 a month to this lazy girl who just keeps having more kids.  This is a vicious cycle and needs to be fixed!

Just needed to vent! Thank you!
